Welcome to Bryn Mawr

For well over a century, Bryn Mawr has provided girls with exceptional educational opportunities on a beautiful 26-acre campus within the city limits. The quality of student life at Bryn Mawr is remarkable. Inquisitive girls, excellent teaching, strong student-teacher relationships, and a clear mission sustain our vibrant school community where girls always come first.
In 1885, five young women had a revolutionary idea that girls were entitled to the same opportunities as boys to develop in mind, body, and spirit. They founded a school dedicated to a rich and vigorous college-preparatory curriculum supported by excellent programs in the arts, athletics, community service, public speaking, and leadership development. They believed then, as we do now, that within a nurturing environment girls can set and achieve high goals.
Bryn Mawr is about great minds, strong hearts, and bold voices. This is a school where the most able girls representing diverse backgrounds and from all corners of Baltimore (and beyond) come together to share in the joys and intellectual challenges of learning. With the support of talented teachers, Bryn Mawr girls are encouraged to take risks, develop their authentic voices, and go out into the world as articulate women and as advocates for themselves and others.
We invite you to see for yourself what the Bryn Mawr experience is all about and why our girls love their school. Our admission process is designed to help you and your daughter learn about Bryn Mawr as we learn about you. With each step, you will better understand our program, and our promise to our students and their families. I encourage you to begin the process by scheduling a campus tour to obtain an overview of Bryn Mawr. Students and parents considering grades 5 through 12 may benefit from touring together, so please call our office today at 410.323.8800. The next step in the process is to submit an application and schedule your daughter’s shadow visit. Applicants to grades 2 through 12 will spend a morning visiting classes. On the same day of her visit, parents are invited to meet with an Admission Staff member to help us learn more about your daughter’s interests, talents, and ambitions.
