Registration

Registration forms for the 2013-2014 school year will be mailed to families in May. Our registration is open to siblings.

Students in Kindergarten, Pre-First, and First Grade may only have lessons after school beginning at 2:45.

Voice lessons begin for students in Sixth Grade.

The registration deadline for the 2013-2014 school year is July 1, 2013. Registrations received after that date will be placed on a waiting list until the scheduling process is completed in early September.

Private music Lessons for Boys & Girls

The Music School at Bryn Mawr offers students in Kindergarten–Grade 12 music lessons with exceptional teachers in a range of instruments. Individual lessons, which include opportunities for performance, are available to students at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Areas of Study: Clarinet, Cello, Flute, Guitar, Harp, Piano, Saxophone, Violin, Viola and Voice. Please contact the Music School office to inquire about Summer Music School lessons.

Beginner String Group Lessons for Boys & Girls

The Music School at Bryn Mawr offers group lessons in cello and violin for boys and girls in Kindergarten through Grade 2, beginning in the fall. Suzuki-based learning will be led in small groups.

Designed exclusively for beginning music students, the 45-minute weekly lessons feature hands-on activities and games. Students will participate in a spring recital to showcase their musical accomplishments to family and friends.

Class schedules will be announced after all applications are received.

Lower School Strings Scholarship

The Music School offers a need-based scholarship to Bryn Mawr Lower School students in Kindergarten–Grade 5. The scholarship covers a majority of the cost of one year of 30-minute beginner private lessons on the violin or cello. Applications are due no later than June 3, 2013. more...

Make-up Policy

Lessons cancelled by the teacher will be made up. The teacher is not obligated to make up lessons missed by students (illness, vacation, forgot). Lessons missed because of school closings or special events will be negotiated between teacher and student, but not to exceed 3 make-up lessons through out the year.

Refund Policy

Once you have registered your child for private music lessons, you will have three lessons in which to decide whether or not to have her continue for the entire school year.

Registration will be considered final after a trial period consisting of the first three lessons, and payment will be due in full for all lessons by December 1, 2013. If you choose to cancel during this period, you will only be responsible for the cost of lessons taken plus the cost of registration.

Music school charges will appear on your November school bill.
