Giving Thanks

Bryn Mawr held its Thanksgiving Convocation on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Headmistress Maureen E. Walsh opened the special student assembly with a story and welcoming remarks, which were followed by the recitation of the School Prayer and the singing of “Joyous the Love” led by Bryn Mawr seniors Fallon Goodman and Gracie Harrington. more...

It's the Geo Bee!

On November 29, 2010, all Bryn Mawr Middle School students participated in the preliminary round of the National Geographic Bee in their respective history classes; this was the first year that fifth-grade girls participated. In the preliminary round, four students had perfect scores: Rachel C., Grace H., Emily P., and Anjalee R. Generous Gifts

During the month of November,  children in Bryn Mawr Little School and Bryn Mawr students in every division participated in generous acts of giving to help individuals and families in need for the Thanksgiving holiday. In the Arts

Thank you, Dan Dudrow

The Bryn Mawr School welcomed artist and Bryn Mawr parent Dan Dudrow to campus recently for a reception in the Howell Building in honor of Mr. Dudrow’s donation of a oil painting to the school. The painting, entitled passeggiata, was a gift from the artist in honor of his daughter, Bryn Mawr alumna Andrea Dudrow Colvin ’89, and it currently is displayed in the west vestibule of the Howell Building. more...

Ukuleles!

Fourth-grade teacher Joelle Mayo started a Ukulele Club in the Lower School this year, and 15 third-grade girls signed up to participate. Ms. Mayo says that “so far, the girls have learned how to tune their ukuleles and how to play the C chord. “ Just before Thanksgiving, Ms. Mayo had planned to introduce an additional chord so that the girls could begin playing songs. more...
