All sessions are free and held virtually. Their goal is to provide information in a broad scope that will serve participants regardless of where they apply. Sessions are held live with Davidson Admission staff - bring your questions!  Sessions are not recorded.

College Application Basics

In this session we cover the fundamentals of applying to college. Discussion topics include: types of applications, application timelines, common application materials, and additional resources. 

Finding Fit & Crafting a College List

Intended Audience: High School Juniors & Seniors, Parents & Mentors
Join for a discussion on how you can get to know colleges and begin the process of selecting the ones to which you'll apply. We'll provide tangible tips on how to identify important factors and characteristics of your ideal college, so you can ultimately find the places that best suit you to embark on your college journey.

College Essay Writing 101

Learn the who, what, and why of college admission essays along with tips for putting your best foot forward in writing. This session is a prerequisite for the Essay Writing 201 session.

Intended Audience: High School Seniors, Parents & Mentors
This session is intended for seniors and continues the conversation from Essay Writing 101. However, this session will welcome you to participate in guided brainstorming and writing exercises that give you a chance to dig deeper into the writing process.

Leveraging Your Activities and Supplemental Materials

Colleges want to learn about the meaningful ways you spend time. This session will help you learn how to be your own best advocate, and share details about your extracurricular involvements and formative experiences. Conversation topics will include the Activities List, Letters of Recommendation, and other supplemental application materials.

Financial Aid Basics

This session will cover the process of how to apply for financial aid with topics including: eligibility, necessary documents, cost-determination, common terms, and more.
