Grace Kim

Violinist Grace Kim, with degrees from Peabody Institute and UW-Milwaukee, is dedicated to creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. As a full-time faculty member at Peabody Preparatory, her teaching focuses on building a strong musical foundation where students of all ages can grow and express themselves confidently.
Violinist Grace Kim received her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance under the tutelage of Herbert Greenberg at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She then completed her Master of Music degree in string pedagogy and violin performance under the tutelage of Darcy Drexler at the UW-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts.

At Peabody, Kim received the J. C. Van Hulsteyn Award in Strings and worked closely with Rebecca Henry at Peabody Preparatory. She is also an alumna of Peabody’s Pre-Conservatory Violin Program. At UW-Milwaukee, Kim taught at String Academy of Wisconsin and the “Urban Students in Arts Outreach” Program.

In addition to teaching at The Bryn Mawr School, Kim is a full-time faculty member at Peabody Preparatory. Her goal as an avid violin teacher is to establish a substantial foundation within a positive environment where students can strive, feel safe, and be open to learn. Students of all ages are encouraged to develop and communicate through musical expression.
