What do you like the most about teaching at Bryn Mawr?
I like the atmosphere here, and being able to play with the kids and help them learn through play. The whole environment of the school, the student body and the faculty have all helped to make this a very positive experience. I also like being able to use my creativity and to foster an environment where kids are willing to take risks. They love to learn, and they learn from both success and failures.
What is your teaching philosophy?
To meet children at their level, to give them positive reinforcement, to help them take chances and to encourage them to build on what they have already learned.
What do you think is the most valuable thing about the way the Little School approaches education?
We meet children where they are. We find out their interests and tap into those. Everyone learns differently, and there is no wrong way to learn. There are many different methods that we can use to help each child learn in the way that works best for them.
