Jennifer Arrogancia, Upper School Math
“A Bryn Mawr education is about the entire girl. We care about the girls, and we will do whatever we can to help them grow into well-rounded young women.”
Upper School Math Teacher Jennifer Arrogancia’s career in teaching began with a position coaching high school lacrosse. An enthusiastic problem solver since she was a child, Arrogancia’s experience with coaching inspired her to return to school to earn her teaching certification in mathematics. After several years working in public schools, Arrogancia came to Bryn Mawr. Immediately, she appreciated the opportunities available to create meaningful connections with her students and encourage their interests. An avid proponent of STEM education, Arrogancia helped to create Bryn Mawr’s math mentorship program, which pairs students with alumnae in math-based careers. “Completing an internship or mentorship is so helpful, because it allows them to see the importance of these careers,” Arrogancia says. “They find out firsthand that these are fun, exciting, cutting-edge jobs that they can pursue.”
In addition to her STEM work, Arrogancia is the chief advisor for the Class of 2017 and assists with several technology committees and initiatives. “A Bryn Mawr education is about the entire girl,” Arrogancia says. “We care about the girls, and we will do whatever we can to help them grow into well-rounded young women.”
