    SSFS College Night for the Visual & Performing Arts 2025

    Virtual
    On Wednesday, April 9th, the SSFS Arts Department and the Office of College Counseling will host a Virtual College Night for the Visual & Performing Arts. This event offers attendees a fantastic opportunity to acquire insight into the vast possibilities degrees and experience in the arts offer at the collegiate level and beyond.

    EVENT SCHEDULE:
    Studying the Arts in College Opening Session (6:00 PM – 6:20 PM):
    The Opening Session, led by SSFS Arts Faculty members, will offer invaluable information including:
    • An explanation about the different types of art programs and degrees offered at colleges and conservatories;
    • A look at the admission and application process for arts schools;
    • Instructions on how to develop a great portfolio and how to prepare for auditions;
    • Details about summer program options for deeper enrichment.
    Undergraduate Program Presentations & Virtual College Mini-Fair (6:20 PM - 7:45 PM):
    The Undergraduate Program Presentations & Virtual College Mini-Fair will feature schools with a wide variety of paths that students can take to study the arts. Participating colleges include:
    • Maryland Institute College of Art
    • Muhlenberg College

    Each college will give a presentation to all attendees about programs offered at their institutions and will then move into their own breakout rooms for further discussion. You are encouraged to visit representatives in each room.  By the end of the night, the age-old tale of the starving artist will be shattered, and you will see "the sky's the limit!"

    Students can register in advance for the program using this Google Form. The information will be shared with the representatives for continued follow up with you.
