Ann Marie Strauss to Lead Regional College Counseling Association
Bryn Mawr’s Director of College Counseling Ann Marie Strauss has been elected to serve as President-Elect of the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admissions Counseling (PCACAC). PCACAC is one of twenty-three affiliates under the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) and serves high school, college admission and community based counselors and independent educational consultants in Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and West Virginia. The mission of PCACAC is to support and advance college admission professionals as they guide their institutions, students, and families in an ethical manner. Ann Marie will serve a three-year term in the association's Presidential cycle.
Ann Marie joined the Bryn Mawr community in July 2020 from Garrison Forest School where she was the Director of College Counselling. She has worked in college counseling for over 20 years in both public and independent schools and has strengthened and expanded the college counselling curriculum for Upper School students. She has also designed and implemented new programming and events that are developmentally appropriate, data-driven and culturally competent. Ann Marie has previously served as the Executive Vice President for PCACAC, and is a frequent presenter for the NACAC. She holds a B.A. in psychology from Allegheny College and M.Ed. from University of Virginia.
