Third Grade Greek Myth Play

The third grade did a wonderful job with this year's Greek Myth plays, a Bryn Mawr tradition for almost 40 years now! Students had a great time writing and performing their own versions of "Prometheus and the Fire and Pandora's Box."

Fifth Grade Newbery Luncheon

The fifth grade welcomed Kimberly Brubaker Bradley for the annual Newbery Luncheon, a highlight of the fifth grade year. Bradley won the Newbery Honor in 2016 for her novel The War That Saved My Life. The girls heard this book as a read aloud in fourth grade and finished reading the sequel, The War I Finally Won, this year as a class novel. Students had a wonderful time talking in their classroom with Ms.Bradley and hearing a presentation from her over lunch about her career path and what it is like to be a writer. Special thanks to the fifth grade parents for providing a delicious lunch for this special event!

Spring Spirit Day

Spring Spirit Day was so much fun! The beautiful spring weather came just in time for a day of dodgeball, facepainting, Miss Twist ice cream and lots of Mawrtian spirit. Congrats to our dodgeball champions: the seniors! After a spirited day, Mawrtian Nation came together at Johns Hopkins University for Friday Night Lights. It was a great end to a spirited day complete with a Lower School spirit tunnel and a Varsity Lacrosse win over Dulaney High School!

Little School Opening Day

In celebration of the beginning of baseball season for the Orioles, the littlest Mawrtians got in on the action with an outdoor sports day! Students wore their (or their parents’) favorite sports team t-shirt or jerseys, and practiced running bases, catching, throwing and hitting. Play ball!

Lower School Bring Your Parent to School Day

The Lower School put a twist on "Bring Your Child to Work" day, and hosted two fun “Bring Your Parent to School” mornings! Students had the opportunity to show parents where they work and play, and introduce them to their teachers.

Mawrtians at the Yard

This April, the Bryn Mawr community enjoyed a fun night out with the Baltimore Orioles! Dayseye performed a beautiful rendition of the national anthem, Ms. Sadler won the Heavy Hitter Award, and alumnae, family and friends showed their Mawrtian pride!

Little School Author's Tea

The Little School Authors Tea is a highlight anticipated by the oldest Little School students. After learning about the writing process, students get to write and illustrate an orginal story (with a little help from their teachers), which they present to an audience of parents and teachers during the event. The cute factor was through the roof, but the real learning behind it is exceptional. Between the drawing skills and imaginative storytelling, who knows, the next great authour might be right on campus! A big thank you to Eliza Adams, Kim Dorsey, and Suzanne Pugh for hosting a fantastic afternoon at the Little School!

Holi Festival

This month, students in Middle and Upper School celebrated spring with a Holi Festival. Students tossed colored powders in the air and on each other to celebrate culture, friendship, and community. Holi or “The Festival of Colors” is one of the largest festivals in the world celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists to welcome spring. It also celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Thank you to Mrs. Gayatri Gupta P'20, '22, the Asian Student Union, and all the parent volunteers who helped make this wonderful event possible.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Upper School put on a wonderful version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The all-Bryn Mawr cast brought a contemporary style to the enchanting comedy of earnest workers, the woodland adventures of lovers, and playful encounters with fairies. Congratulations to all!
