The French and art departments teamed up to welcome internationally renowned artist Luckner Candio, a.k.a., Prince Luc to campus to kick off the WLC department's Art and Social Movement art opening. Prince Luc is a Haitian born artist whose works has been displayed in prominent galleries throughout the world, including the Louvre in Paris. Prince Luc hosted “ateliers artistiques” or art workshops in the Upper School art studio, and discussed the traditions and styles of Haitian art including the vital role of art in the reconstruction of Haiti after the earthquake of 2010 and Hurricane Matthew. Thank you to Rebecca Barck, Jenniffer Gray, Patricia Tamariz, Bethany McAndrew, Talia Busby Titus, Jeanette Budzik, Georgia Summers and Michael Robinson for creating this unique opportunity for students.
